4. Policy Analysis
Nepal has undergone significant transformations over the past decades in social development, cultural shifts, and demographic movements. Since the restoration of democracy in 1990 (2046 BS), the decade-long Maoist insurgency, and the people's movement of 2006 (2062-63 BS), the country has transitioned into a federal democratic system with constitutionally distributed rights and independent state bodies.

With the implementation of a decentralized governance system, local governments now possesslegislative authority to govern their respective areas. Additionally, rapid technological advancements, particularly access to the internet, have connected even remote regions to the global economy. Foreign employment has provided new opportunities for Nepali citizens, increasing remittances and access to financial resources.

Despite these transformations, challenges remain. Public dissatisfaction persists regarding governance inefficiencies, inadequate infrastructure development, and poor service delivery. Nepal continues to face increasing dependency on foreign goods and aid, with minimal domestic production to counteract economic reliance on neighboring countries. Although agriculture remains a dominant sector, vast farmland remains barren due to traditional farming practices and a lack of youth engagement in agriculture.

At this critical juncture, a transformative, research-based approach to development is essential. My work focuses on identifying new policy directions and strategies that can drive tangible, impactful changes for Nepal's future.
